Minimum requirements;

5 Years experience in an Accounting role.

Able to manage the books for 3 companies in an efficient and timely manner.

Experience in foreign currencies.

Great communication skills.

Experience in BV accounting package is an asset

 

Job Description

 

Title – Senior Accountant

 

Reports To – Vice President (Finance) and President

 

General Responsibilities

 

To efficiently supervise and be engaged in the processes of managing the Financials of the company. To be accountable for all financial matters, highlighting trends and emergent issues to the Vice President (Finance) and President. To ensure the financial wellbeing of the company by prudent attention to detail in respect of cash flow, inventory and receivables. To work in harmony with the Purchasing, Sales, Customer Service and Accounting Departments in order to ensure excellence in communication of goals, objectives and tasks.

 

Key Tasks:

 

  • Utilize the financial and operational processes in a timely manner in order to facilitate efficient business flow
  • Lead the Management group in the respect of financial position, cash flow, forecasting and decision making in regard to fiancial matters
  • Prepare monthly GL reporting in line with company requirements for three companies within the group
  • Prepare and present year end statements to the President/External Auditors
  • Prepare and implement payroll on a bi-weekly basis. Maintain all employment Policy including WSIB, EL, etc. Be involved in and manage vacation requests, sickness reporting, etc
  • Prepare and submit quarterly Royalty reports to the primary licensors
  • Submit GST and other payments to the appropriate authorities in a timely manner
  • Manage the AP function of the (3) businesses
  • Manage the AR function through a co-worker
  • Manage the expenses and costs with responsibility in line with guidelines
  • Observe all health and safety related issues and practice safe working for all associates
  • Manage overtime and resource needs according to work load.

 

Restrictions and Limitations

 

No authority to pay any person other than bona-fide suppliers

 

No authority to change any payments, commissions or bonuses unless with the express written permission of the Vice President, President or General Manager
